We use AlterNET Code Editor/Scripter to edit and debug .NET scripts.
The editor allows us to edit C# and VB.NET scripts with full code completion and immediately show syntax errors to the user while editing. We were able to integrate our special editor requirements in almost no development time. The Script Debugger provides full debugging functionality for the scripts.
In addition, we have excellent support in case of problems. Within very short time, every question is answered by the AlterNET team or an appropriate hotfix is delivered.

Our relationship with AlterNET started in 2017, when we were in search of an editor for VB.NET code for our in-app-scripting. The special requirement was that those scripts are snippets of method bodies – the user shall not be able to see or edit the class or method declaration and can use only methods of the framework that we wrap around the snippet. Other editors did not provide this feature, but AlterNET added the necessary basics to their component und provided a sample on how to implement our requirement.
The new XML Editor (introduced in 2021) is the icing on the cake for a small, but important part of our application: we enable experienced users to configure some of our reports (Word or Excel output) using XML format, which is internally deserialized to a class structure. Out of this class structure, we create a XSD Schema definition. The XML editor uses this XSD and provides code completion and direct validation.
Using the editor, it is much easier to edit the formatting, as code completion suggests valid attribute names or child elements and also suggests enumerated values. This is a lot easier for ourselves, and “regular” users have a chance to do modifications to the format themselves, without deeper XML knowledge and without having to dig through an external documentation for each modification.
The XSD support was added to AlterNET Studio on our request, and it is great how fast this was done. Also, I had the chance to give a lot of feedback in the process of developing this feature, so that the result fits our requirements perfectly.

I have been looking for a product like this for many years and am happy to have found your company.
I am using it in all our main products for script editing. For small scripts where very high performance is needed like in calculated columns where we need to handle 100,s of thousands to millions of rows I use Jint to do the execution, but your Syntax editor for the editing. In all other cases I use your Syntax editor and Scripter. It is awesome.
I've sent some source changes to bypass issues when hosting the editor of this in Microsoft Excel, using Async calls in a few places.
